Lottie Small

Lottie is an apprentice Die Stamper at Barnard and Westwood Fine printers and Bookbinders. She joined the company following a hand Embroidery Degree at the Royal School of Needlework. Her passion for traditional crafts and particularly print was instilled in her from a young age, having been raised by generations of antiques dealers. Inspired by her own collections of antique books and prints she began to use these mediums in her artwork during her course of study.  Deeply inspired by the intricate and repetitive nature of print making she undertook extra training in print processes during her degree, before deciding that she wanted to pursue a lifelong career in this medium and joined Barnard and Westwood.

She has a devotion to learning about, and protecting traditional British crafts, believing the loss of these skills will result in us becoming isolated from key elements of our culture and history. She strives to not only retain key traditional skills but also work towards developing them further to become more accessible in the modern age.
