2021 sees St Paul’s embrace the themes of creation, craft and creativity. Demonstrations and pop-up displays celebrate the inspiration, making and resourcefulness which generated so much positivity in the challenging months which have just passed, and which will play their part in the recovery.

Conserving historic woodwork at St Paul’s
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 1pm – 4pm, to mark the tercentenary year of the death of master carver Grinling Gibbons, the Cathedral’s object conservator presents a pop-up display telling the story of the Gibbons’ carvings in the cathedral Quire – their conception, creation and their ongoing care.
Marvellous mosaics
On Wednesday from 1pm – 4pm, a pop-up display from the Cathedral’s archives enables visitors to discover the beauty and artistry of the St Paul’s Dome mosaics by William Blake Richmond and find out more about the skill that went into their creation.
Embroidery treasures
On Tuesday from 1pm – 4pm, St Paul’s Cathedral Broderers demonstrate their wonderful skills and techniques, alongside a display of some of the spectacular copes and textiles in the Cathedral’s collection.
