Paul Thomas x Browns in Collaboration with Emma Payne

Heritage florist Paul Thomas has created a limited-edition collection of vases in collaboration with British ceramicist Emma Payne, exclusively for Browns. Inspired by Nancy Lancaster’s infamous Yellow Room at the Browns Brook Street boutique, the collection celebrates a shared history of the space and the pieces are on display in store throughout London Craft Week.

About

Heritage florist Paul Thomas has created a limited-edition collection of vases in collaboration with British ceramicist Emma Payne, exclusively for Browns.

Launching as part of the official London Craft Week schedule, the range takes inspiration from the Yellow Room situated in the Browns Brook Street flagship boutique. Paul Thomas founder and creative director, Paul Thomas-Jeffreys, installed the weekly flowers in that very room in the 1980s for one of the address’s most well-known residents, Nancy Lancaster – the owner of renowned interior decorators Colefax & Fowler.

Returning to the space following the Browns takeover almost 40 years later, the idea was born to tell the story of this shared history. The silhouette, glaze and finish of the vases reflects the contrasting historical elements and contemporary design details in the Browns boutique, brilliantly interpreted by Berkshire-based potter, Emma Payne. Emma also created the bespoke ceramic bar and beakers for Native at Browns, the in-house restaurant at the store. The resulting trio of vases has been designed to display flowers to their best advantage whilst being design pieces in their own right that feel at home in any interior, traditional or contemporary.
