The Wicker Story for Kam Ce Kam

Kam Ce Kam is a furniture brand born from a passion for innovative design conceived through traditional methods of manufacturing. This year, they have partnered with The Wicker Story on a collection highlighting the versatility of rattan as a material and wicker as a weaving tool, allowing for the creation of complex symmetries and unique organic forms.

About

Kam Ce Kam is a furniture and interiors brand born from a passion for innovative design conceived through traditional methods of manufacturing. From the material to the making, the story is one of passion and integrity, coupled with a genuine desire to revive the heritage of Indian craft in a considered, conscious and contemporary manner.

As part of the Kam Ce Kam mission, they are continually expanding their network of designers and artisans. This year, the brand has partnered with The Wicker Story to create a unique collection of sculptural, functional art pieces.

The Wicker Story’s work involves the translation of digital processes for complex designing for easy adaptability to Indian craft and material systems. The versatility of rattan as a material and wicker as a weaving tool allows for the creation of complex symmetries and unique, intricate, organic forms. The Wicker Story transcends scale and geometry and defines new protocols for design. Their products are 100% sustainable and offer a zero-waste production method. They are constantly attempting to create a symbiotic amalgamation of art and architecture, celebrating the context of culture, colour, tradition and values in India.

The coexisting design synergies between both the creative directors (Jehanara from Kam Ce Kam, and Priyanka from The Wicker Story) have allowed for the creation of a unique set of pieces, pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship and telling the stories of the makers and the materials used.
