Known internationally as an authority on 19th-century English and Continental design, scholar-dealer Martin Levy is the fourth-generation head of H. Blairman & Sons, Ltd., the antiques dealership founded by his great-grandfather Harris Blairman in Llandudno, North Wales, in 1884 and now located at 15 Queen Anne’s Gate in the heart of Westminster in London. A past chairman of the British Antique Dealers Association (BADA), Martin Levy is a member of the Spoliation Advisory Panel, the Chairman of the Decorative Arts Society and the Kelmscott Campaign Group, as well as board member of The Gilbert Trust for the Arts, and a trustee of The Emery Walker Trust.
Dr Barbara Lasic teaches at Sotheby’s Institute of Art on the Master in Fine and Decorative Art and Design, which offers an in-depth exploration of connoisseurship and the integrated study of the fine and decorative arts. Barbara has published on the subject of French decorative arts, the history of taste and the history of collecting Prior to her academic career, Barbara worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the curatorial team involved in the redevelopment of the Europe: 1600–1800 galleries, and she held curatorial positions at the Wellcome Trust and the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.
