Soluna Art Group presents works by leading Korean craft artists, centred around the theme of weaving. From the winner of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2022 to craftspeople designated as intangible cultural assets, the best of Korean craft is showcased through materials including  bamboo, horsehair, wood and glass. 

The exhibition highlights the hours spent in achieving innovation, individuality and immersion through a single material. At the same time, materials that are translucent and see-through are juxtaposed against one another to play with light, shadow and silhouette. Over the years, Soluna Art Group has presented many interesting exhibitions, each time creating different moods to show Korean culture and art at its best.

About the artists
Daeyong Jo
Designated as an intangible cultural asset in making fine bamboo blinds, Daeyong Jo’s work was featured in the Netflix series Kingdom.

Byungjin So
Designated as an intangible cultural asset working in wood furniture, Byungjin So makes cabinets based on traditional techniques.

Dongsik Kim
Designated as an intangible cultural asset for making fans, Dongsik Kim preserves Korea’s finest fan-making techniques.

Dahye Jeong
Winner of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2022, Dahye Jeong works in horsehair based on the Joseon Dynasty men’s headwear.

Kyouhong Lee
Kyouhong Lee is one of the best glass artists of Korea, trained in many different glass techniques, from blowing to casting and stained glass.

Jungmo Kwon is a contemporary hanji (Korean paper) artist making lights by folding paper.
