Laura is a UK based glass-artist from the island of Bermuda. With over 15 years experience working with hand-blown glass Laura creates lighting, interior accessories and sculpture in her London studio.
Over the years Laura has developed intricate techniques for working with hot glass and precious metals to create patinas on the surface and within glass forms. Many inspirations for collections begin with growing up on an island where the elements are very much a part of everyday life. Storms, hurricanes, and water shortages all highlight a beautiful, but fragile ecosystem and it is this elemental world that continues to be a source of concepts. Laura’s work has been commissioned by private clients throughout the world as well as commercial projects in both hotels and cruise ships.
Combining forces with her sister Emily, their brand Molten 1090 was birthed in 2022. Molten 1090 brings together Laura’s skill of capturing the incandescent qualities resulting from the marrying of hot glass and precious metals, with a circular design ethos which the brand lives by.
