About

For London Craft Week, Oxo Tower Wharf brings together a curated selection of exhibitions, workshops and events to excite and inspire. Japanese Kintsugi workshops, Korean jewellery demonstrations, a female-led leather and clay exhibition and more, there is a whole host of activity to be explored at the studios on the first and second floor. There is also the exciting return of Future Icons Selects at Bargehouse and brand-new exhibition at gallery@oxo, Echoes of Quanzhou: The Story of Stone.

EXHIBITION: Coaxed at 1.22 | Unit 1.22 First Floor | 13-18 May 12 – 6pm | Free
Coaxed is an exhibition of three women makers – Karin Hossack, Raffaella Molin and Deborah CarrĂ©, whose work is characterised by the manipulation by hand of their chosen material, be it clay or leather, and the warmth and individuality that imparts. Unique, one-off pieces and place settings for the home and bespoke commissions that celebrate the intersection of art, functionality, and enduring beauty.

EXHIBITION: A Novice Approach | Carreducker Unit 1.20 | 13- 17 May 12-5pm | Free
Visit the CarrĂ©ducker studio to see an impressive array of work by current/alumni handsewn shoe-making students. A celebration of the timeless artistry of the traditional handsewn craft in the hands of novice shoemakers. Under the guidance of master shoemakers James and Deborah, budding shoemakers are encouraged to explore their own and the craft’s capabilities.

WORKSHOP: Kintsugi by Wagumi | Unit 1.09 | 17 May evening | Paid
The ever popular Repair and Grow workshops with Japanese design store Wagumi, return for 2024. Kintsugi workshops for either an introductory session, or a bespoke class. A kintsugi kit will be inclusive within the ticket price. Find out more and book at https://wagumi-j.com/

EVENING OPENING: 15 May | 6-8:30pm | First and Second Floors
To celebrate London Craft Week at Oxo, many of our studios and shops will be open for the evening, giving visitors the chance to browse, buy, and commission, as well as meet the makers, all with a glass of fizz. There’s no need to pre-register; join us on the first and second floors of Oxo Tower Wharf.

EXHIBITION: Surface & Texture by Jessica Jue & Josef Koppmann | 13-19 May 11am-6pm Unit 1.06
An exhibition of recent silverware and jewellery pieces by Jessica Jue and Josef Koppmann, who share an affinity in their love of texture, choice of materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Inspired by balance and harmony, Jessica draws and sculpts with a dramatic use of fluid, organic and playful curves, and Josef’s work excels in abstract texture that reveals the intense colour of 24-karat gold, contrasted with the gentle, cool shimmer of the silver.

Keum–Boo Demonstration by Jessica Jue – London Craft Week
Josef Koppmann Gallery invites you to a demonstration of Keum–boo, the ancient Korean technique of fusing thin sheets of 24-karat gold foil onto silver. Watch London-based silversmith and jeweller Jessica Jue create a richly textured silver sculpture, followed by a drinks reception.

Future Icons Selects presents over 50 craft-led artisans from across the world, in a curated industrial setting at Oxo Tower Wharf’s Bargehouse, exclusively for London Craft Week.
