International acclaimed textile artist and designer Amélie Crépy celebrates her first upholstery textile launch. This exquisite fabric is unveiled for the first time at her solo exhibition at 67 York Street Gallery during London Craft Week.

The fabric has been exclusively hand-dyed in a biodegradable black using plant-based dyes, woven into the ultimate sustainable luxury. It demonstrates that fabrics dyed using naturally-derived colour from sustainable sources is not only possible but scalable, repeatable and of the high quality required by today’s textile industry.

On this project, Amélie worked in collaboration with natural dye specialists AO Textiles, who hand-dyed the yarns, and internationally renowned weaver Gainsborough Silks, who wove the linen and silk into a jacquard with a monochromatic repeat pattern synonymous with Amelie’s fine art collections.

Alongside the fabric, Amélie is also displaying a new eye-catching body of textile wall hangings and framed artworks. Made of hand-processed flax and dye derived from foraged oak galls, these pieces highlight Amelie’s continued quest to challenge mindsets and inspire others to consider how art and textiles can contribute to a healthier, more sustainable environment.
