About

Janae Paquin-Bowden is a ceramic artist based in Lyonville, Australia, where she creates hand-built stoneware pieces in her home studio, nestled on her flower farm. Janae studied at Deakin University and La Trobe University, where she majored in Ceramics as part of her Visual Arts degree. Her travels in her 20s played a significant role in shaping her artistic practice, with influences ranging from 16th and 17th-century delftware to French-style urns—elements that are reflected in her signature blue-and-white ceramic vases.
After transitioning from a career in primary school teaching to raising a family, Janae co-founded a flower farm with her husband, Chris, in 2016. In recent years, she has returned to ceramics, balancing her love for flower farming in the warmer months with pottery in the colder seasons, often allowing the two passions to intertwine. Her work is available through stockists in both the UK and Australia, including Willow Crossley in the UK.
