About

Largely self taught beginning from his schooldays, Julian King-Salter became a full time handbuilding potter in 1983, exhibited widely and prolifically throughout the UK from 1986 to 1999 and became a Fellow of the CPA during that period, then stopped potting and disappeared to Australia for 20 years. He had one exhibition in Lismore NSW in 2009, but did not have a pottery workshop of his own again until 2018 in Australia for two years, before moving back to the UK and establishing himself in Leek Staffordshire just in time for the major lockdown in
2020. Since then he has again been potting prolifically, if not as yet exhibiting as widely as before. He has two sons and two grandchildren so far.

He has worked in significant private collections in the USA, UK and Europe.
