About

Christabel MacGreevy is an interdisciplinary artist concerned with belief systems, communication and memory, explored through the interplay of the personal and archetypal. She studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, London and Ecole de Beaux Arts, Paris before completing her Postgraduate diploma at The Royal Drawing School, London.

Working in paint, ceramics, sculpture, and textiles, with a practice that centers in drawing, MacGreevy considers the concept of performance and ritual to be present in her drawing practice. Ceramics has emerged as an important concern that was ignited during the pandemic, starting both 2021 and 2022 with a three month residency at Ceramica Suro in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Recent international exhibitions include The Armory Art Fair and Miami Basel with Eric Firestone Gallery, New York (2024) and a duo show at Tristan Hoare, in Fitzrovia (2023) titled Sexing The Cherry, named after Jeanette WInterson’s 1989 postmodernist novel of the same name.
