This exhibition explores colour’s role in design and craftsmanship, and its influence on wellbeing. Through a curated selection of objects and materials, experience how colour, texture and craft shape restful atmospheres. Echoing Savoir’s philosophy on rest and wellbeing, it reflects on how design and materiality support stillness and balance.

About

This installation at Savoir’s flagship Mayfair showroom considers colour as a language within contemporary design and craftsmanship, and its capacity to influence how we experience rest and wellbeing.

Through a curated selection of objects and materials, the exhibition explores how colour communicates identity, emotion and cultural narrative within crafted forms, while also shaping the atmosphere of the spaces we inhabit. From bold palettes to nuanced tonal contrasts, contemporary makers use colour and materiality to create environments that engage the senses and encourage a sense of calm and balance.

Presented within Savoir’s focus on rest and wellbeing, the exhibition reflects a broader idea: that the quality of rest is shaped not only by what we sleep on, but also by the environment that surrounds us. Just as a Savoir bed is crafted around the individual through heritage craftsmanship and carefully selected materials, the works on display demonstrate how thoughtful design decisions can quietly enhance everyday life.

In this context, colour becomes more than a visual gesture; it becomes part of a wider language of design that shapes atmosphere, comfort and the experience of rest in a fast-paced world.
