Join Grand Tea Master Sōshin Kimura of the Hōshinkai Tea School for a lecture on lacquerware in Japan’s tea culture, organised in connection with Urushi Now: Contemporary Japanese Lacquer, a display of 21st-century lacquer art opening 30 April 2026 in the V&A’s Toshiba Gallery of Japanese Art.

Join Grand Tea Master Sōshin Kimura of the Hōshinkai Tea School in Kyoto for a lecture on the significance of lacquerware in the Japanese tea culture from the 16th century to the present day. This event is organised in connection with Urushi Now: Contemporary Japanese Lacquer, a display on 21st-century artistic expressions in lacquer, on view in the V&A’s Toshiba Gallery of Japanese Art from 30 April 2026.
