About
Embark on a journey of material discovery as Hong Kong designer-maker Naam Yu narrates the cultural history of galvanised iron and demonstrates the essential crafting techniques.
This material discovery and craft demonstration is a part of the exhibition titled Creative Cross-Pollination: The Future of Crafts, which spotlights the concept of “creative cross-pollination”—a dynamic process where disparate ideas and techniques converge to generate something entirely new. Crafts on Peel bridges Hong Kong and international craftspeople across disciplines to co-create artworks in various mediums, fostering creative dialogues and cultural connections within our global craft community.
Crafts on Peel is a non-profit foundation in Hong Kong to revive, reinterpret and perpetuate traditional craftsmanship by fostering collaborations between traditional craftsmen, contemporary artisans and creative individuals across disciplines. Through various programmes, the Foundation nurtures the younger generations to incorporate traditional skills into innovative contemporary design.
