BOOKING INFORMATION

About
Colour speaks before words, stirring memory and drawing us into dialogue between object and viewer, material and maker. Colours in Conversation brings together eight makers working across ceramics, glass, jewellery and textiles, each using colour as a language of emotion.
Jennifer Shellard’s woven scarves pulse with the vibrancy of her Brazilian childhood. Jewel tones collide and dance in electric geometric rhythms, echoing the heat and chromatic intensity of Rio de Janeiro.
Sarah Packington’s bold jewellery recalls the mid-century abstraction of Lucienne Day and Joan Groag. Planes of saturated colour are punctuated by graphic lines, creating wearable compositions that are both playful and poised.
In glass, Emma Baker explores the emotional weight of memory. Her blown forms hold colour in suspension, reflecting how joy and melancholy can coexist within a single recollection.
Ceramicist Jill Bryars’ practice begins with drawing, allowing line to guide clay into expressive figurative forms. Subtle surface colour enhances the quiet psychological presence of her figures.
Working in porcelain, Carol Sinclair embraces its purity and preciousness. Her restrained palettes and meticulous constructions explore connection — to one another and to the natural world — informed by her Cairngorm landscape and a thoughtful, closed-loop practice.
Ömer Öner transforms discarded objects into carefully crafted ceramic assemblages. Through replication and repetition, colour and surface unify found fragments into poetic narratives of regeneration.
Straddling painting and textiles, Sarah Emily Porter builds architectural frameworks from stitched cloth, across which poured acrylic flows like refracted light. Her bold, colour-led surfaces balance order and chance.
Jaeeun Kim’s porcelain vessels carry quiet emotional resonance. Using hand-mixed underglazes and imagery inspired by the House-Tree-Person motif, she layers painterly colours that evoke home, memory and healing.
Together, these eight makers reveal colour as a shared, deeply human language: one that invites reflection, connection and feeling.
