About

For London Craft Week 2026, this exhibition will demonstrate how presentation can enhance beautiful objects for both makers and collectors.
Glass, textiles, metal, stone, wood and ceramics: whatever the material, Darbyshire collaborates with all kinds of makers to help present and protect their work.

Darbyshire have invited a group of accomplished craft practitioners and artists to join them, pairing striking pieces with their expertly crafted frames, cases, plinths and more. Join Darbyshire at their studio at the Angel to explore this fusion of talent, and discover new, inspiring ways to present treasured objects.

The Darbyshire team looks to find ways that allow the work to shine, taking into consideration the unique requirements and qualities of each piece.
When dealing with delicate and fragile materials such as ceramics, our designs allow the viewer to get close enough to explore them from many angles, ensuring the surface, shape and decoration can be fully appreciated.

The alluring translucence of glass demands careful consideration of lighting – either natural or integrated – for dramatic effect.

Natural and industrial materials bring their own challenges. The captivating hard-edged lustre of sheet metal and the raw delicate beauty of alabaster ask to be contained and supported to allow them to take centre stage.

Soft flowing textiles are shown uninterrupted with barely visible supports, allowing form and fibres, warp and weft to create organic poetic forms.
Putting wood centre stage allows us to reveal the exceptional qualities of what is often seen as a humble material – elevated by the maker here, and celebrated by Darbyshire.
