About

Since their establishment some thirty years ago, Ochre have been inspired to create sculptural pieces that have been skilfully cast in the finest bronze and evoque a refined, natural beauty. Their design inspiration is often drawn from the honesty of nature and is realised in their lighting, furniture and accessories.
Newly launched pieces include the Pirouette side tables, the Lunar dining table and the Nomad handles, which are available to order in two sizes and three tonal finishes. Each piece is created using the lost wax technique, also known as ‘investment casting’. This process involves casting a single metal object from a wax model. It is highly versatile and achieves exceptionally detailed results. Lost wax casting builds a mould around a sacrificial wax model. After the mould investment is set, the wax is melted out and forms a cavity where the metal or glass flows in. This ancient technique captures fine details in both metal and glass and has been used since 3000 B.C. to visually capture the stories of ancient cultures and religions throughout history.

These new additions join Ochre’s collection of bronze sculptural pieces which include the Whippet table, the Seed Cloud chandelier, and the beautiful Damselfly wall light. Ochre will be showing a video demonstrating the casting of some of these pieces, as well as having physical samples on display for you to experience first-hand. All of their pieces are created to order and therefore can be tailor-made to their discerning customers’ requirements.
