About
First Of March is a contemporary online gallery and cultural platform redefining how the world collects and commissions craft. Ambitious in scope and international in outlook, we see making as a global language – capable of crossing borders while keeping cultural identity intact.
Exclusively for London Craft Week 2026, First Of March has curated a unique two day showcase event at the prestigious Royal Society of Arts in London – an opportunity to meet and engage directly with the exceptional Makers with whom we work.
A celebration of creativity, skill and material mastery, the showcase will champion the work of seventeen exceptional Makers from the First Of March portfolio, presenting contemporary craft that is deeply rooted in place, rich in story and our cultural heritage.
Featuring live demonstrations, talks, hands-on workshops, international collaborations and curated exhibitions, the showcase has been crafted to stimulate and inspire, giving a unique insight into the precision and artistry behind beautifully crafted objects, installations and narratives.
Designed for the curious, the collector and those looking to discover, the showcase will include work by textile artists Michelle Griffiths, Ruth Harries, Sian Lester, QEST scholar – Justyna Medon, and QEST emerging Maker – Jackie Stephens: silversmiths, jewellers and metal artists, Rauni Higson MBE, Rebecca Oldfield, Mari Thomas, Suzie Horan and Beate Gegenwart: glass Artists from E & M Glass: sculptors Angela Farquharson and Martin Duffy: ceramicists Ruth Petersen and Justine Allison, and two multi disciplinary artists Annette Marie Townsend and Julia Brooker.
