About
Kayo Saito is a contemporary jeweller whose work is deeply inspired by nature and the environment. Informed by plants and trees, their seasonal changes, rustling sounds and swaying movements, Saito translates the colours and textures of natural forms into her own creative language. She crafts subtle organic forms in silver and 18ct gold, creating unique sculptural jewellery that blends Japanese and British aesthetics techniques.
Trained in both Japan and the UK, Saito completed an MA at the Royal College of Art. Now based on the Kent coast, the surrounding landscape continues to inspire her. She has received numerous awards, including from the British Jewellers’ Association, Crafts Council, the Goldsmiths’ Company, and the QEST Award for Excellence in 2024. Her work is held in major collections, including the V&A, the Goldsmiths’ Company and the Swiss National Museum.
Exhibiting at FORGE as part of The Secret Garden Showcase, 1 May – 1 June.
