Devin Valentine is a neurodivergent musician and maker working out of Southampton as Valentine Instruments. Trained in musical instrument making at West Dean College and a recipient of the Heritage Crafts Training Bursary, Devin’s practice spans lutherie, repair, teaching, 3D design and music production – working with almost any musical instrument he can get his hands on: plucked, bowed, bashed or blown. Driven by a compulsion to tinker, fix and understand, Devin treats craft as an ongoing conversation between the past and the present, where years of playing, questioning and listening shape the work as much as the craft itself.
