About
Aiveen Daly will be exhibiting works during ‘Crafted’ at Sotheby’s from Monday 11 to Sunday 17 May.
Aiveen is a leading innovator in contemporary textile artistry, recognised for a meticulous couture approach that bridges the gap between heritage craft and fine art. Since founding her London atelier in 2005, Daly has redefined the parameters of her discipline, moving beyond the functional to create a new category of “textile sculpture.”
Her practice is defined by a unique hybridisation of traditional techniques—such as 18th- century silk floristry and hand-embroidery—with modern structural engineering and material innovation. This technical mastery has earned her a global reputation, with bespoke commissions appearing in prestigious private residences, superyachts, and landmark hotels from New York to Shanghai.
A 2023 Walpole Power List honoree, Daly is dedicated to the alchemy of materials, transforming technical textiles and leathers into modern heirlooms. Her work remains a testament to the pursuit of excellence, combining an ethereal, sculptural aesthetic with a rigorous commitment to hand-crafted precision.
