About
In celebration of London Craft Week, we invite you to join us at Heal’s flagship store on Tottenham Court Road on Wednesday 13th May, from 6pm to 8pm, for an exclusive evening exhibition and panel discussion celebrating the evolution of contemporary Nordic design.
Hosted within a dedicated exhibition space inside the Heal’s building, the event will bring together five pioneering Scandinavian brands: Fritz Hansen, Normann Copenhagen, Gubi, Carl Hansen & Søn and &Tradition. Each will present a curated installation of key pieces reflecting their interpretation of modern Scandi design, from heritage craftsmanship to forward-thinking innovation. Together, the displays will showcase the breadth and diversity of today’s Nordic aesthetic.
The evening will feature a panel discussion hosted by journalist David Nicholls, joined by respected Danish designers and brand experts. The conversation will explore how Scandinavian design is evolving, how heritage and innovation coexist and what lies ahead for Nordic design.
Following the talk, guests will have the opportunity to explore the installations further and connect with brand representatives over fizz and light refreshments.
Take a closer look at the five Scandinavian brands involved in this special event:
Fritz Hansen continues its 150 year legacy through craftsmanship and enduring icons, while collaborating with contemporary designers to introduce new colours, materials and forms that bring fresh energy to its collection.
Normann Copenhagen blends traditional Scandinavian principles with playful experimentation, confident colour and sculptural silhouettes to create a bold interpretation of modern Nordic living.
Gubi reintroduces historical icons alongside contemporary creations, creating layered interiors that feel eclectic and distinctly modern.
Carl Hansen & Søn remains rooted in masterful woodworking and enduring quality, while expanding its collection with contemporary pieces suited to modern lifestyles.
&Tradition preserves the icons of Danish design while championing new voices, including Verner Panton’s Flowerpot pendant, a timeless piece that continues to bring colour and character to modern interiors.
