About
From Paul Smith’s Foundation, ‘British Glass’ is a public exhibition featuring newly commissioned works from five British glassblowers, created as part of the Foundation’s inaugural design grant, ‘British Makers’ which celebrates exceptional craft from the British Isles. Featuring new pieces from Jochen Holz, Gather, Emsie Sharp, Stewart Hearn and Bristol Blue.
‘British Glass’ will showcase each maker’s journey from brief, through development and to object, including sketchbooks, in-studio interviews and insights into their specialist processes. Attend the exhibition or join them in the shop on Tuesday 12 May at 6pm for a panel discussion with the makers on the enduring impact and relevance of heritage British craft, moderated by Managing Editor of Hypeform, Alice Morby.
Paul Smith’s Foundation supports early career creative people working in fashion, visual arts and design through bespoke business mentoring, project and consultancy opportunities and grant-making. In ‘British Makers’, Paul Smith’s Foundation will annually celebrate the craftsmanship and distinct point of view of heritage makers from Britain as they bring a new product to market, guided by the homewares team at Paul Smith.
