Maak presents two curated auctions of contemporary ceramics and craft, featuring the preeminent collection of Marc and Diane Grainer — renowned figures in the craft community who brought together one of the most significant collections in the USA.
A Life in Craft: The Grainer Collection will be offered over two auctions during the week of 10 – 15 May 2025.
Over 200 works from the collection of Marc and Diane Grainer – spanning ceramics, metalwork, furniture, woodwork, jewellery, fibre, and sculpture – will be offered as part of Maak’s two parallel auctions dedicated to Contemporary Ceramics and Contemporary Craft. Works from The Grainer Collection will be presented alongside other important pieces from a range of distinguished collections.
Marc and Diane Grainer have long been supporters of the Crafts Council and in keeping with their long-standing commitment to giving back to the community, the Grainers are generously donating a proportion of the sale proceeds to the British Crafts Council in recognition of a relationship that goes back many years – and with the hope of helping to support its work into the future.
Join Maak for the auction exhibition and their programme of gallery talks.
Please note, also open Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May, 11am – 4pm.
