About
Singapore’s participation in London Craft Week 2026 celebrates the living heritage of Singaporean craft, from its time-treasured roots to its present innovative forms. Entitled Future Craft, the showcase explores how craft practitioners and designers reinterpret traditional craft techniques, innovate with materials, whilst navigating topics of heritage, identity and sustainability.
The showcase is part of a series titled CraftxDesign that was first launched in 2021 in Singapore, and paired craft practitioners with local designers to reimagine traditional crafts into innovative and modern products. As part of London Craft Week, objects from this series will be displayed alongside works from other designers and craft practitioners that explore the role of craft in Singapore’s urban and multicultural context.
