About
The Austrian Embassy London and Meisterstrasse are delighted to present a new international showcase for craftmanship, forging creative connections across the worlds of craft.
This curated presentation brings together around 20 outstanding makers, with a particular focus on interior design and architecture. Highlights include Lanserring – Unity of Craft, Lobmeyr (lighting and glass), Antique Parquet, textile design by Beate & Celina von Harten, Tim Hall Photography, Sofia Hagen Design, and horology by Bernhard Wagner.
The exhibition is complemented by customised fragrances and perfum workshops by Yogesh, exquisite ceramics by Annabel Kail, knitwear by A.M. Schitter, and fine jewellery by Christoph Freyer, Schwarzer Juwelen and Atelier Im Ersten — offering a rich and diverse insight into both traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.
OPENING RECEPTION – FROM AUSTRIAN HANDS TO GLOBAL SPACES
The exhibition opens on Thursday, 14 May at 5 pm with a reception and a Bösendorfer concert featuring Tomoki Mayeda (violin) and Yunko Urayama (piano).
A special highlight of this evening is a world premiere: the presentation of the Lanserring Cocktail Cabinet, designed in London and handcrafted in Austria. Created especially for London Craft Week, the cabinet is the work of Lanserring, the renowned luxury interior joinery studio from Styria, with showrooms in London and New York. Within this newly created cabinet, Lobmeyr—founded in 1823—bridges its imperial heritage with contemporary design, presenting iconic tumblers ranging from Adolf Loos to Michael Anastassiades. Together, they bring historic craftsmanship and modern design into a singular, refined setting.
EXHIBITION AND OPEN HOUSE
From Friday, 15 May to Sunday, 17 May, the Embassy will be open to the public. Visitors are invited to explore the Meisterstrasse exhibition daily from 11am till 6pm.
The makers themselves will be in attendance, offering personal insights into their processes, expertise and philosophy.
