About

A delayed celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the Leach Pottery, St Ives, presenting the Leach studio team of today. Founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada in St Ives, Cornwall, the Leach Pottery is among the most respected and influential potteries in the world. Over the last hundred years it has forged the shape of studio pottery in the UK and beyond. The current studio team, led by lead potter Roelof Uys, carry forward this precious legacy while adding their own voices to its philosophies and teachings. The exhibition features their individual work as well as their collaborative studio pieces and Standard Ware to present the Leach Pottery 100 years on.

Featuring Roelof Uys, Britta James, Callum Trudgeon, Matt Foster and Annabelle-Smith.

The exhibition covers the ground floor gallery of the Old Brick Shop, which is also hosting a series of supper club events throughout the exhibition – unique dining experiences by restaurant Gilvic, inspired by and using the Leach’s iconic Standard Ware. The basement gallery, alongside this, displays a curated selection of emerging and leading names in contemporary ceramics today.
