Liaigre Presents: The Craft of Light and Paper

As part of London Craft Week 2026, Liaigre invites you to explore the art of bespoke lighting with The Craft of Light and Paper. This open-house event features a live demonstration led by Baptiste Fichet, Artisan and Furniture Designer at Liaigre, who will travel from the atelier in France to share his savoir-faire. Throughout the day, Baptiste will guide guests through the process of working with paper, demonstrating the techniques and precision required to craft elegant, handmade lampshades. Guests will also have the opportunity to engage with the maker, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the craft.
Since the maison’s founding in 1985 in Paris, Liaigre is defined by a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, with each project uniquely tailored to reflect the individual needs of each client. Light is central to this commitment, shaping bespoke atmospheres that enhance a variety of settings, from private residences to yachts and resorts. In its approach to lampshades, Liaigre places particular importance on paper, selecting only the finest watercolor paper for its delicate texture and the soft, diffused light it creates.

The lampshades crafted during the demonstration will remain on display at the Liaigre showroom throughout London Craft Week 2026, offering visitors the chance to further appreciate the especially handcrafted pieces. This event is open to all, with no booking required.
