About

Visit artisan perfumery 4160Tuesdays’ Hammersmith studio from Monday 12 to Friday 16 May between 11am and 6pm to see their workspace, smell raw materials and try out finished fragrances.

They are running workshops on Monday 12, Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15, and on Saturday 17 May are at the Barnes Fragrance Fair. For more details and to book, visit 4160Tuesdays.com/londoncraftweek2025.

Perfumery is a secretive craft, which flourished in London until around 100 years ago. Its inter-war renaissance was centred around the West London hub of Acton, Greenford and Brentford, with modernist factories on the Great West Road and Park Royal. The last remaining factory was the Pochpac works in Hanwell, which moved to Suffolk in the 2010s, where 4160Tuesdays bottles are now printed.

4160Tuesdays is delighted to be one of a handful of companies now making perfume inside the M25, and encouraging people to try it themselves. They have already helped over 20 artisans to launch their own fragrances, and hundreds more to create something they enjoy wearing.

They are offering short guided tours, six two-hour classes and three talks at 4160Tuesdays and their local meeting house, plus two classes on Saturday 17 May which are bookable through Barnes Fragrance Fair.

Things to know before you book: 4160Tuesdays is a small, active workspace where large quantities of perfumery materials and finished fragrance concentrate are stored. They are insured for visitors aged 15 and above but it’s not an appropriate space for children. Talks and workshops are held just around the corner at the beautiful modern Hammersmith Quaker Meeting House, which is accessible for all.
