Movement and Modernity: An Exhibition of Work by William Darrell

William Darrell is best known for his kinetic sculpture and wearable devices. His work is inspired by plant life, body parts and industrial machines. These elements are used to create hypnotic and visceral motions that play with the mind. Discover a selection of William’s work, celebrating nature and 3D printing, exclusively at J&M Davidson’s London flagship.

About

William Darrell is best known for his kinetic sculpture and wearable devices. His work is inspired by plant life, body parts and industrial machines. These elements are used to create hypnotic and visceral motions that play with the mind. Through these kinetic sculptures, William explores the brain and what it has inherited through the millions of years it’s been evolving.

William’s works are mostly created on a computer and 3D printed. The CAD software acts like an extension of the artist’s imagination and the 3D printers an additional hand to build with.

J&M Davidson is delighted to exhibit an exclusive piece, created especially for London Craft Week and displayed in their boutique window. A selection of William’s earlier works are dotted throughout the store, including on his wearable devices.
