About

Discover Scottish craftsmanship with an evening of whisky with Bruichladdich and furniture designer Angus Ross. The evening includes an introduction to Bruichladdich with brand ambassador Abigail Clephane, a tasting of four Bruichladdich whiskies and a talk by Angus Ross about his work.

Multi award-winning designer Angus Ross is best known for exquisite, sculptural furniture with a sense of movement and flow. He has been innovating with wood for almost 30 years and continues to be curious about the possibilities of his local timber. Since 2002 he has been based in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, and co-owns a local bluebell wood managed for sustainable timber and bio-diversity. The small-section characterful timber led to steam bending, and he combines this with traditional cabinet making and contemporary digital cutting. He leads a team of dedicated craftsmen making furniture to commission for public places across the UK and international private collectors.

Bruichladdich Distillery, located on the Isle of Islay, seeks to produce the most natural, thought-provoking and enjoyable whisky possible. With a reputation for producing single malts that challenge convention, they distil three whiskies: Bruichladdich (always unpeated), Port Charlotte (heavily peated), and Octomore (super heavily peated) – and are also home to The Botanist Islay Dry Gin. In May 2020, Bruichladdich became the first Scotch whisky distillery to be B Corp certified, meaning they put people and planet in line with profit when making decisions. Their progressive attitude towards the local community has seen the company become the largest private employer on the island, with 80 employees and 50% of the distillery’s annual barley requirements grown on Islay
