About
Celebrating the launch of The Design Edit magazine, Editor Emma Crichton-Miller leads a conversation with Wycliffe Stutchbury and Alida Kuzemczak-Sayer regarding the exhibition Thread at the Sarah Myerscough Gallery.
The discussion explores the nature of textiles, their inherent meaning, and their evolution within the crafted arts. They will delve into what Anni Albers truly meant when she spoke about “the event of a thread” and how that concept has evolved through the work of the artists featured in this exhibition. How thread can serve as a catalyst for thought and how textiles can become the physical embodiment of an idea. The launch will take place in the heart of the Schoolhouse, set directly among the artworks to celebrate their physical presence. The event serves as a living extension of the essay written by Emma Crichton-Miller for this exhibition.
The space will open at 8:30am, with the talk running from 9am to 10am. Refreshments will be available on-site.
