Britain is enjoying a golden age of craftsmanship not seen since the late 19th century. It’s transforming architecture, interior design, furniture – and the quality of our lives – in a variety of exciting and unexpected ways.

What are the benefits of craft skills in the creation of furniture and buildings? How are they influencing the work of contemporary designers? How are they benefitting the environment and preserving skills? Ben Pentreath, one of the leading names in classic English architecture, and Ben Johnson of Albion Nord share their thoughts on all these issues with Country Life’s Giles Kime, who chairs the discussion.

The event takes place at Chelsea Barracks, London’s most important new residential development, where both designers have been closely involved.
