Following the success of its inaugural year, Park Royal Design District is proud to be back again in 2024. Visitors can explore a diverse range of disciplines in this emerging creative zone, ranging from ancient crafts to cutting-edge technology.
This year, the three-day event includes a vibrant weekend market selling handmade wares from a wide array of craftspeople and makers — from ceramics to embroidery, bookbinding, screen printing and more. A series of workshops at the newly kitted-out Park Royal Open Workshop (POW) allows visitors the chance to test out the machinery available and get stuck into making their own objects, while the ‘Artisanal Intelligence’ exhibition explores the intersection of new technologies and AI, with handmade low-tech craft techniques.
Levant Book Café showcases its impressive collection of traditional Syrian and Lebanese art and crafts including tiles, embroidery, glassware, intricate marquetry and more. This hidden gem in Park Royal’s food scene is renowned for owner Sameh’s handmade Syrian ‘booza’, a unique method of making ice cream that stretches back generations — so don’t miss out on this taste of Damascus over the weekend.
