About
Amélie Crépy is a British-French textile artist and designer working between the South of France and London. Her work has evolved from a deep obsession with colour, texture, and pattern, and her aesthetic is defined by geometric forms, muted tones, and linen as her primary canvas.
Research and experimentation are integral to her creative process. Driven by a desire to challenge traditional notions of artistic materials, Amélie seeks to raise awareness about the environmental impact of commercial dyes and pigments. With a background in womenswear design and having held specialist positions at interior textile, print and fashion houses, she transitioned into fine art textile design, embracing organic materials.
In 2019, Amélie opened her workshop, focusing on traditional ink-making, textile dyeing, and the process of transforming flax into linen. Her unique approach to colour creation begins with foraging for the natural ingredients used to make her dyes. Amélie is also the founder of Creative Pattern Studio, which specialises in bespoke print and woven pattern designs.
Internationally acclaimed, Amélie exhibits widely and her work is available through art and design galleries across Europe, the UK and USA.
