About
Andrea Anastasio is a designer whose practice has been defined by a multiplicity of approaches. In much of his work, artisanal processes are integrated into industrial ones, while in other cases the close dialogue is between the performativeāartistic dimension and the design product of daily use, to highlight the cultural, economic, and political content. Anastasio has a background in Eastern studies, holding an MA in Indian philosophy. His work generates a dual narration where dialogue takes place on multiple levels: between design and art, between serial and artisan products, between industry and artistic installation, and between Italy and India. He is currently the Director of the Italian Culture Centre in New Delhi. Anastasio has collaborated with renowned brands such as Ferragamo, Moncler, Foscarini, Artemide, and many more.
Inspired by the craft of leather puppetry in South India, Anastasio, in collaboration with EVOKE Londonās sister gallery KAASH, created a collection of tall enigmatic light sculptures that celebrate the intrinsic beauty of leather.
