About

Bec Kirby (b. 1992, Blackpool, England) is a multi-disciplinary artist specialising in textile and painting. With a background in Interior Design, Bec worked in industry for nine years at design studios in both Amsterdam and Manchester before progressing to develop her artistic practice. Working from a fifth-floor studio in a retired cotton mill on the outskirts of Manchester, the foundation of her work is built on a commitment to animal welfare and sustainability, directly addressing the relationship between space, object, and material. Utilising dead-stock yarns, fabrics, and ethically sourced wool fleece, her work demonstrates a mindful approach to craftsmanship.

Bec Kirby will be a part of HANDS exhibition curated by Wondering People at 8 Holland Street from 13th- 19th May.
