About

Cleto Munari is now considered a 360-degree artist, with a five-decade long career spanning industrial design, furniture, works of art and jewellery.
From the beginning, when he first met the architect Carlo Scarpa in 1973, Cleto Munari has been involved in research and activities related to industrial design, working for major companies worldwide.
The Cleto Munari Company was established in the early 1970s, starting off with the production of design objects created by the greatest names in the architecture of that time, such as Gio Ponti and Carlo Scarpa.
His objects – especially those made of gold and silver – are in the permanent collections of several important museums around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Since 2016, Cleto Munari has rediscovered his love for jewelry making, looking at old drawings as well as taking inspiration from contemporary artists.
In his constant search for inspiration, ideas and original projects, Cleto Munari is open to questioning his work and renegotiating his practice. He keeps challenging himself, experimenting with new concepts, forms and materials.
Cleto Munari believes that ‘great’ artists should not limit their creativity to one discipline. Instead, they should express it freely throughout all the artistic forms.
