About

A light and airy structure of intertwining shapes. Voluminous open forms that dance together!

The essence of my Ceramic Sculptures is to capture movement, a kinetic dialogue, a spinning out of essential human emotions, thoughts and perceptions. To express the synthesis of shape and form, hand building in porcelain, black clay and GT clay whilst capturing and conveying a sensual and lively tension with harmonious balance.

My practise reflects cultural memory, my heritage Italian/American, born in Paris and brought up in London, as well as working as Interior Designer with Architects Dennis Lennon for 11 years. A two year diploma in Sculpture that resulted in commissions of heads in bronze over following ten years.

Wanting to develop a more fluid spontaneous abstraction, I delved into a period of creating rotating forms, trembling ruffles and undulating shapes in ceramics. Having three solo shows persuaded me to deepen my creative focus and perfect my technique by completing an MA Royal College of Art in Ceramics & Glass 2019-22.

Inspired by the Futurists, Boccioni “Unique Forms of Continuity of Space”, Giambolognia, Barbara Hepworth, Magdalena Odundo, Ashraf Hanna. Colour plays an important part in my phyche, Paintings by Abstract Expressionist Clifford Still, glass by Fulvio Bianconi, jewellery by Georg Jensen and James Turrell’s Sky Space.

My artistic expression is now more resolved, and I have shown in various galleries in London. My Ceramic Sculptures are widely held in homes , the City in Offices, Livery Companies and abroad.

I enjoy expressing myself in new organic ways, to keep the work alive!
