Dawa Dakpa, the seventh generation of the Khyentse Lima Bronze lineage, is dedicated to crafting exquisite bronze sculptures of Buddhist deities and bodhisattvas. A rising star in traditional craftsmanship, he has been recognized for his skills, receiving accolades such as the State-level Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor title and the China Arts and Crafts Culture Design Award. Following in his father Nima’s footsteps, Dawa Dakpa has immersed himself in learning the Lima Bronze technique, connecting with all bearers of this great lineage. His exceptional creativity and design expertise have breathed new life into ancient bronze products, propelling Tibetan traditional handicrafts to the international market.
Dawa Dakpa believes that Khyenle craftsmanship combines fashion with tradition, aiming to inspire and nurture future generations with Tibetan traditional craftsmanship and innovative works. He is the cofounder of Khyenle, a Tibetan Bronze Art Center that employs traditional lost-wax casting and sand-casting techniques. With over thirty full-time artisan works, Khyenle empowers craftsmen in Tibet and provides them with employment opportunities. In recognition of its contributions, Khyenle was named the Sichuan Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Poverty Alleviation Base in 2022.
