About
Hajeong Lee is predominantly focused on making functional ware by using traditional Korean Buncheong techniques. This involves using inlaid white slip and dark clay, with patterns often influenced by William Morris. She purposefully looks to find a harmony between both Korean tradition and influences from the West. Additionally, she loves the idea of her pots being used in everyday life, unlike sculptures that she has made in the past, whose purpose is only decorative or made to convey a message. By people using her pots, she hopes that they start to become a familiar and comforting feature within a person’s life.
