Hanny Newton is a Shropshire Borders-based embroidery artist exploring the potential of wheat and rye straw as a sustainable ‘natural gold’. For the past three years, she has been exploring and re-imagining historical straw embroidery techniques, studying with the few remaining makers, and accessing rare archives.
