About

Ionela Bellato is an Italian designer and ceramic artist working between parametric design, clay extrusion, and hand-formed surface work. Her practice explores the meeting point between digital structure and manual gesture, where precision is softened by touch, irregularity, and material response. Inspired by natural growth systems, underwater creatures, and processes of erosion and transformation, she creates ceramic works that move between function and sculptural expression.

Each piece begins through coded logic and controlled deposition, then develops through hand-applied gestures that introduce tension, fragility, and variation. Rather than separating technology from craft, Ionela sees them as intertwined languages. Based in Italy, her work reflects an ongoing interest in hybrid making processes and in forms shaped by biomorphic influence.
