About
Jacques Monneraud grew up between the studios of his mother, a painter and sculptor, and his grandfather, a carpenter, all the while surrounded by the paintings of his great-grandfather. These deeply creative environments had a major influence.
Initially a graphic designer, Jacques Monneraud soon became creative director of an advertising agency in Paris. Over the years, during which he was awarded over 70 international creative prizes (including 1 Grand Prix at the New York Advertising Festival, 1 Grand Prix at Eurobest and 1 Gold Lion at the Cannes Festival), he gradually moved away from design. Having grown up in a family of artists, he wanted to go back to craft. After several months of research, Jacques discovered the potter’s wheel: “I liked everything about it: the material, the fact that it’s just you and a lump of clay, the variety of things you can do with it… I signed up for a course the same day and quit my job a few weeks later.
