About
With a decade of producing and fabricating bespoke furniture for leading design studios and galleries, private clients and commercial entities Julian Leedhamās own practise revolves around four fundamental philosophies: form, balance, circularity and function.
These concepts intertwine creating objects that adopt the principles of the circular economy, whilst seeking balance between form and function.
For Future Icons Julian is showcasing āPaper Disruptionsā, which seeks to reinforce the act of change by disrupting the everyday. Should a cabinet be square, made from wood, be symmetrical, consist of straight lines and neat edges? Or can a cabinet be something else, something more organic, something that disrupts our visual monotony, that challenges our way of thinking, could it be an agent for change?
Using paper waste from the printing industry and other organic materials, a paper-clay is produced and used in the creation of a series of rebellious paper boxes. Stacked and balanced these boxes create objects that explore the ideas of disruption and change.
