About
Kate Malone’s career spans over 40 years, with her work ranging from small jewel-like pieces to large public art projects. Her art is in museum collections worldwide, and she has created several solo exhibitions whilst also featuring in international art fairs annually with Adrian Sassoon. In 2018, she was awarded an MBE for her contributions to ceramic art and was a passionate advocate for the positive impact of clay in all areas of community life.
By using a variety of hand-building techniques and a personally developed wide palette of glaze colours, her work is inspired by the abstract energy in nature and by nature in the real world.
She speaks publicly about her work and emphasises the benefits of learning craft skills in schools as part of a basic essential education. In 2018, she co-founded Fired Up4, which aims to place soft clay into young hands across the UK in districts of particular need.
