Kyra Cane grew up in a small Nottinghamshire village and after attending Mansfield College of Art she gained a first class degree in Ceramics from Camberwell College of Art and Craft, London in 1985. She has been making pots, selling and exhibiting work ever since. As resident artist at the Harley Foundation she works full time from her Tan Gallop studio.  Known for her fine expressive porcelain vessels, Kyra has worked with interior design company ‘Liaigre’ supplying them with porcelain for showrooms across the world.  She has collaborated with textile company ‘Romo’ who produced a range of fabrics, wallcoverings and rugs based on her ceramic work and drawings.  Her project Monumental Vessels was selected for ‘Collect Open’ in 2024 And she was one of the ten selected ‘Award’ artists in the British Ceramics Biennial in 2025.  Notable teaching includes leading the Harrow Ceramics Course, University of Westminster for ten years.

 

She is currently Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Craft Pottery Charitable Trust.
