Laura Ngyou’s jewellery is shaped by a passion for travel and exploration, drawing inspiration from miniature worlds within natural landscapes, from exotic jungle flora to humble rockpools. Born into a large family who span the globe from Asia to north America, she has been lucky enough to discover the wonders these places have to offer.
Her work features richly textured forms composed of multiple components that cluster and hang together, creating intricate, tactile details. Contrasting precious metals with naturally formed gemstones, she achieves a sumptuous, otherworldly quality. With an experimental and process-led approach, Laura embraces ambiguity of form, creating abstract pieces that invite closer observation and quiet reflection on the natural curiosities and personal journeys that inspire her practice.
