Founded in Paris in 1936, Maison Michel began as a small millinery workshop. By the 1960s and 1970s it had become a trusted partner of Parisian haute couture houses, before joining the CHANEL Métiers d’Art in 1997. Over the decades, the House has continuously reinvented itself, evolving with fashion and society to become a singular Maison, renowned for its craftsmanship and creative expertise in hats and headpieces for fashion houses and its own collections.
In 2026, Maison Michel celebrates 90 years of this journey, honoring its artisans and their exceptional savoir-faire while looking toward the future of the hat as a symbol of movement, creativity, and freedom of expression.
